Fasoo Client Installation and Deployment
The installation of the Fasoo Mac Client and other Fasoo security applicataions is facilitated by the program Fasoo Installer.
The Fasoo Installer is a comprehensive application designed to facilitate the installation and updating process of all Fasoo applications simultaneously. With Fasoo Installer, users can easily manage and execute the installation and uninstallation of Fasoo applications from a centralized interface.

The system requirements for the installation are as follows:

Minimum: Mac OS Catalina 10.15, Big Sur 11.0, Ventura 13.0, Sonoma 14.0, Sequoia 15.0
Recommended: Montery 12.0

Note: If the Mac PC is using the new silicon chips (Apple M series), the Mac PC must be set to Reduced Security to allow for the installation of MacFUSE. A technology utilized by the Fasoo DRM client to supply view only access to encrypted files. If view only permissions are not a requirement, there is no need to this step.

Fasoo Installer Installation
Install Fasoo Installer and Fasoo applications
The Fasoo Installer is an application deployed via a Fasoo setup program (.pkg), which enables the installation of Fasoo applications. This guide is specifically designed for a macOS environment, although minor variations may occur depending on the operating system. Based on whether you received a Fasoo application setup file (.dmg), please select one of the following methods:
Method 1: Install using a single Fasoo Installer setup file (.pkg only)
Note: Prior to installation, if your Fasoo product suite includes L-Client, please read the Important Notes located at the bottom of this tech note.
Install the Fasoo Installer and Fasoo products are as follows:
1. Run the Fasoo Installer setup program provided by Fasoo.
2. The setup program starts to install the Fasoo Installer.
3. Click Continue.
4. Click Install.
5. Click Close Application and Install.
6. Enter Mac login password and click Install Software.
7. When the installation is complete, click Close.
8. Click Keep to keep the setup program in its current location, or click Move to Trash.
9. When prompted to install the helper tool, click Yes.
10. Enter the Mac login password and click Install Helper.
11. When the installation is complete, the list of installed applications is displayed.
There are options to reboot, open an app, or uninstall an app by clicking More.
Note: The Fasoo Live Update agent installed on a Mac regularly communicates with the Fasoo Live Update server to
check for updates or installations. If necessary, the agent automatically downloads relevant package files from the server
and installs them on your computer. This ensures that your Fasoo applications remain up-to-date without the need for
manual updates or installations.
Method 2: Install using Fasoo Installer setup file (.pkg) and Faspp product installation file (.dmg)
Note: Prior to installation, if your Fasoo product suite includes L-Client, please read the Important Notes located at the bottom of this tech note.
Install Fasoo Installer and Fasoo applications with the following steps.
1. Run the Fasoo Installer setup program provided by Fasoo.
2. The setup program starts to install the Fasoo Installer.
3. Click Continue.
4. Click Install.
5. Click Close Application and Install.
6. Enter your Mac login password and click Install Software.
7. When the installation is complete, click Close.
8. Click Keep to keep the setup program in its current location, or click Move to Trash.
9. Launch The Fasoo Installer program and it will request a .dmg file
10. To install Fasoo applications, either click the Search button to select the .dmg file, or drag and drop the file into
the dialog box, then click OK.
11. Click the Down arrow to see the details of the applications to be installed or updated. Click Update & Install All.
When the installation is complete, exit the Fasoo Installer. A reboot may be required depending on the installed
applications.
Fasoo Installer Uninstallation
If desired, the Fasoo Installer can be uninstalled with the following steps.
1. Click the Finder icon from your Dock.
2. Right-click Fasoo Installer in the Applications folder.
3. Click Move to Trash.
4. Enter your Mac login password and click OK.
5. In the Trash, right-click the Fasoo Installer and click Delete Immediately….
6. Click Delete, enter your Mac login password and click OK.
Fasoo Installer Utilization
Launch Fasoo Installer
You can launch Fasoo Installer at any time with the following steps.
1. Click the Finder icon from your Dock.
2. Double-click Fasoo Installer in the Applications folder to initiate the application.
3. If a .dmg file is required, a dialog will appear as shown below.
4. To install Fasoo applications, either click the Search button to select the .dmg file or simply drag and drop the file
directly into the dialog, then click OK.
Check the Fasoo Installer version
1. Launch Fasoo Installer.
2. Click Fasoo Installer in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
3. Click About Fasoo Installer.
4. The window displaying the current version will appear.
Key feature of Fasoo Installer
Launch Fasoo applications
1. Launch Fasoo Installer.
2. Your list of Fasoo applications will appear.
3. Click More for the application you want to launch.
4. Click Open App, and the folder containing the application will open.
Update Fasoo applications
1. Launch Fasoo Installer.
2. Your list of Fasoo applications will appear.
3. If there are applications that require updating or installation, the number of these applications will be displayed
as Updates available: N at the top left.
4. Click Update & Install All to instantly update and install all pending applications.
Uninstall Fasoo applications
1. Launch Fasoo Installer.
2. Your list of Fasoo applications will appear.
3. Click More for the application you want to uninstall.
4. Click Uninstall.
5. In the uninstall confirmation dialog, click OK.
Report errors of Fasoo applications
1. Launch Fasoo Installer.
2. Click Fasoo Installer in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
3. Select Collect Logs.
4. In the Collect Logs dialog, click the Search button .
5. In the Save dialog, select a path to save the error log file, then click Save.
6. Review the selected path in the Collect Logs dialog, then click OK to save the logs.
7. If the file is saved successfully, the folder containing the file will appear.
Important Notes
If your Fasoo product suite includes Fasoo L-Client with MacFUSE, please note the following:
You may see an alert about system extensions or kernel extensions.
Why: See About system extensions and macOS - Apple Support on Apple’s official website for details.
Fix: Change the Security Policy to ‘Reduced Security’
(see Change security settings on the startup disk of a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support on Apple's official
website for details).
You may be required to update the security and privacy
Why: After the initial installation happens, or when the kernel extensions (or kext) in L-Client are updated.
Fix: Follow these steps to permit the usage of a required system.
1. Click System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
2. Click the Lock icon and enter the Mac password.
3. Click Allow.
4. Click Restart to reboot, if prompted.
